240 hours service for Peterbotough Man

A MAN who falsely claimed more than £12,500 in housing benefits has been ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work.

David England (41), of Thorpe Park Road, Peterborough, appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to dishonestly failing to declare a change in his circumstances.

As a result, he was overpaid £3,014.93 housing benefit, £770.45 council tax benefit and £8,813.41 job seeker’s allowance.
