benefit fraudster who claimed he could only walk 20yds... before competing in a 10km road race


Brian Rawsthorne, 50, took part in the Bupa Great Manchester run in May 2007. He even appeared in a newspaper boasting how he had lost two-and-a-half stone as he trained for the race.

Missing in his boasts were the fact that he was caliming D.L.A as he could (sob) "barely walk 20 yards".

D.W.P officials were alerted to his fraud by an anonymous tip off that he was refereeing football matches.
